Terms of Use
Version terms-v1 (2026-07) · Pending external legal review before public launch.
1. Who can use StarSprout
Accounts are created and held by adults (18+). Children aged 6–12 use StarSprout only through a family created by their parent or guardian, on devices the family controls, and are not account holders. A parent's attestation of parental responsibility is recorded at family creation.
2. The service
StarSprout turns family chores into quests: parents assign, children complete, parents approve, points and rewards follow. Optional AI-generated storylines can be switched off entirely without losing any function. Early access may change, pause, or reset features as we build.
3. Your responsibilities
Keep your sign-in secure, supervise your family's use, and only add children you hold parental responsibility for. Caregivers you invite act within the scope you assign them. Do not attempt to access other families' data, probe our security, or misuse the service.
4. Points and rewards
Points and rewards exist only inside your family, have no monetary value, and are fulfilled by you, not by us. We keep an append-only record so the history is always auditable.
5. Your content
Quest photos and family content remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to store and display them to your family. Photos are deleted automatically 30 days after a quest finishes.
6. Ending things
You can delete your family at any time (Settings → Delete family): access ends immediately, and after a 30-day recovery window everything is permanently erased. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, with notice where the law requires it.
7. Liability
StarSprout is provided as-is during early access. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for children's statutory protections.
8. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; Canadian consumers keep any mandatory local protections. Questions: hello@starsprout.io.
